Yuka got her first violin when she was 3 years old. After studies at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with Kazuki Sawa, Yuka moved from her native Japan to London in 2003 to study with Yossi Zivoni at the Royal College of Music. She graduated with a first class degree and awarded the string player of the year in 2007. She then spent two years at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg as a student of Grigori Zhislin before returning to the RCM for postgraduate study. She gained her masters degree with distinction in 2011 and continues her study privately with Ivry Gitlis . She has performed for Proms composer's portrait in 2010 and 2011 which was broadcasted on BBC Radio 3. She has also appeared at several prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, St. James's Church Piccadilly, St. Martin-in-the-fields.

Her recent CD with pianist Kumi Matsuo featuring Schumann's Dichterliebe was published under Naxos label.
