Violinist Anja Jamsek is a postgraduate student at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in the class of Lana Trotovsek. She is a young aspiring soloist and chamber musician and also a well-established professional in the orchestral sphere. She has been a winner of national and international competitions and an active performer on stages around Europe since an early age. In 2010 and 2011 she won 1st prize at the International Music Competition Valsesia in Milano and 3rd prize at the International Music Competition “Antonio Salieri” in Legnago. In 2013 she has won 1st prizes with a chamber group at the International Competition “Davorin Jenko” in Belgrade, and at the International Competition Tartini in Slovenia. In 2017 she became the finalist for the Vera Kantrovich Bach competition in London.

In the last two seasons Anja has been invited to perform at the International Music Festival “Music on the String” in Sarajevo, in 2015 she has performed with the Academy of Ljubljana as the concertmaster and soloist (Faure’s Requiem) in the Slovenian Philharmonic and in 2016 she debuted as a soloist in Berlin, performing Vivaldi’s L’Inverno with the Ljubljana Baroque Orchestra. Since moving to London to further develop her career, Anja’s has often occupied leading positions on Trinity Laban’s orchestral projects and performed concert programmes for venues incluing St Olave Hart Church, St James’s Piccadilly, and Powderham Castle, where she has performed either with her trio or as a soloist.

With pianist Jinah Shim and cellist Helena Svigelj, Anja is a member of the Meridies Piano Trio, which is already on a path towards a promising career, with numerous concert engagements around the UK.
